The EU AI Act, Art. 50 included, does not apply in Norway yet: it is still under scrutiny for incorporation into the EEA Agreement.

Rules for specific sectors

Advertising and influencers

Bills and drafts

Not law: they don't change a country's coverage or what a call needs.

  • Draft AI Act (KI-loven): Draft: not in force. Would bring EU AI Act Art. 50 into Norwegian law: machine-readable marks; deep fakes disclosed.

In the API

Send markets=no on each call to POST /v1/mark: a call that lacks what Norway's rules need is refused before anything is counted, and each mark gets a receipt of what it carries for each law.

What a mark for Norway carries, by kind of file

PictureWatermark and Content CredentialsWatermark and Content Credentials
ClipWatermark and Content CredentialsWatermark and Content Credentials
SongWatermark and Content CredentialsRefused for now: a song can't carry a visible label, and spoken notices for deep fakes aren't available yet: leave "deepfake" off for songs.
