What counts as one mark
- a picture;
- a song: five marks per started minute;
- a clip in the cloud: five marks per started second of video;
- any file in local mode, because we only sign it;
- a safety check in the cloud: two marks per picture, and two per checked frame of a clip (12 frames by default). In local mode the check runs on your machine and counts nothing;
- coming soon in the cloud: a category, one mark; a description, two marks.
Each time-stamp from our server counts once in its own allowance, the same size as your marks.

Extras are for monthly paid plans. The Free plan and annual plans stop at their allowance and ask you to upgrade.
Questions
- Which laws does a mark cover?
- Every mark carries both layers the EU AI Act's Code of Practice names: signed, time-stamped Content Credentials and an invisible watermark. Send your company name and your AI system's name and version, and it carries all five items of California's latent disclosure too. The same marks are the provenance data Washington and Utah ask for from 2027. Name your markets on each call to get a signed receipt per file.
- Do I need my own C2PA certificate?
- No. We sign with our own certificate chain, whose keys never leave AWS KMS, and time-stamp with our own server. Enterprise can sign with your own identity or key.
- What happens when I reach my plan's marks?
- On Free and on annual plans, the API answers
402 quota_exceededand marks nothing more until the 1st of the next month (UTC) or an upgrade. Monthly paid plans keep going into extras, billed on the 1st: USD 0.0003 a mark and USD 0.10 a GB of data, up to ten times the allowance, a ceiling against a runaway loop. The dashboard shows the extras as they add up. - Do test keys use up my marks?
- No. Test keys have their own monthly allowance (100 marks on Free, as many as live on paid plans), so trying things out never touches your live marks. Files marked with a test key are signed with a test certificate.
- Can I have more than one free organisation?
- One per person: the Free plan's marks belong to you, and your first organisation has them. You can belong to others and create more, but any other you create starts with no free marks until it has a paid plan.
- What is “data returned”?
- The size of the marked files we send back in cloud mode, per month (1 GB = 10⁹ bytes). A clip's file counts when its job is done, and again for each later download link. Local mode returns almost nothing, because your files never travel.
- How does annual billing work?
- An annual plan costs 10 months' price: two months free. Its allowance is monthly, and it stops at it rather than running into extras.
- How do I pay?
- By card, from the dashboard's Billing page, through Stripe: we never see the card. VAT or sales tax is added where it's due, and invoices are in the dashboard. Your keys keep working when you upgrade.
- Do you offer Enterprise contracts?
- Yes, from USD 990 a month on an annual contract, with invoices and purchase orders. Write to sales@kennmarq.com.
